As many of you know by now, the Jeff Hardy vs. Sting main event at the TNA Victory Road pay-per-view only lasted only 1 minute and 28 seconds. Obviously, Sting was extremely pissed off after the match.

According to numerous TNA sources, there was backstage concern over Jeff Hardy at the pay-per-view. There are other sources that say Sting told TNA management before the match that he wouldn’t agree to wrestling a long match with Hardy if he was in no condition to perform.

For what it’s worth, Jeff Hardy is scheduled to go to court on drug charges next Monday (March 21st).

As noted late last night here on the website, the reason that the Victory Road main event was so short was because Jeff Hardy was in no condition to wrestle in his match against Sting. Sting was said to be a complete professional about the entire situation but was clearly pissed after the match.

People within the company are reportedly very upset that Hardy was even sent to the ring, when it was clear to people backstage that he should never have been sent out.

Also, people within the company felt that the card should have been reshuffled so that the company would not have been embarrassed like they were last night. Many people within the company are very upset right now, because the company came off looking bad, and because the situation is representative of greater problems that plague the company.

TNA has made the decision to send Jeff Hardy home from this week’s set of iMPACT! tapings.

Sting was always scheduled to retain the title in last night’s main event.

A professional wrestler has been cited by Smithfield Police for allegedly engaging in a fight at a local bar. Gregory Shane Helms, 36, of Smithfield, who is known by WWE fans at “The Hurricane”, and Kevin Wayne Creech, 38, of Four Oaks were both cited for simple affray following an altercation around 10pm Sunday at a bar called The Rehab, located at 526 South Brightleaf Boulevard, according to police reports.

Police Lt. Keith Powell said Creech reportedly touched Helms’ girlfriend, which led to the confrontation. Lt. Powell said the touch was “not inappropriate” but it reportedly did lead to an argument then a brief struggle between the two men. Both men were released at the scene but were ordered to appear in court on April 28 to answer to the charges.

In May 2008, Helms was charged with assault following an alleged incident at another Smithfield club. Those charges were dismissed in July 2008.
